In May, at the Skate Canada Annual General Meeting, Mary Ellen received the Billie Mitchell Award, which is named after the first female President of Skate Canada. It is presented to a member of the Skate Canada Board of Directors for their outstanding contributions throughout the year. The recipient of this award is selected by fellow board members.
Skate Winnipeg is very proud to to share this news. Mary Ellen has been a member of our club for many years. She has been the Tech Rep of at least 10 of our Super skate Competitions as well as our Manitoba Summer Open Competition that we now host.
Mary Ellen is one of the best volunteers for skaters, clubs in Manitoba and across Saskatchewan and Ontario.
Congratulations Mary Ellen, this was very well deserved, and thank you for your continued love and support for the sport.
