Acting Head Coach & CANSkate Coordinator – Dana McKee
Dana is a professional coach who is currently involved with coaching Skate Canada Programs including CANSKATE, STAR, Competitive SKATE and Adult SKATE in which she provides private and group instruction. Dana also work as the CANSKATE Coordinator for Skate Winnipeg, and assists with answering questions from parents, planning and organizing sessions, as well as training program assistants. Dana assists skaters wishing to transition from the CANSKATE program to figure skating in Skate Winnipeg’s STAR program. skaters.

Tina Chen
Tina returned to coaching in 2013. She has over 10 years previous coaching experience with competitive and recreational skaters from preliminary to USFSA senior freestyle, senior moves in the field, and gold dances. Her own skating background includes 3-time competitor at Canadian Championships in pairs (Novice) and dance (Junior). She enjoys working as part of a coaching team to assist in all areas of skater development, with a particular passion for style/choreography and dance.

Kevin Dawe
Kevin has a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo and a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Manitoba. As a skater, Kevin completed his gold skills, dance and free skate and was a Senior competitive single skater training at the Mariposa School of Skating under Doug Leigh. Kevin was part of a coaching team that took a skater to the Canadian National Championships at the novice level in 2013.

Nationally trained with over 12 years of experiences.
Coaching:
All levels from beginner to competitive skaters and all disciplines.
Provides lessons using the portable “fish pole” harness to help skaters master their jumps quicker.
Works primarily as part of a coaching team with a special interest in jump technique.

Mattina has been skating since she was 4 years old and began coaching in September 2016. She is currently competing as a Junior Lady, and is attending the University of Winnipeg. Mattina has passed her Gold tests in Skills, Dance, Freeskate, Interpretive, and Couples Interpretive. Mattina is excited to begin her coaching journey within her home club.

Danae Russell
Danae is a first year University student attending the University of Manitoba. She has coached at the CanSkate level and has completed her CanSkate certification and is Regional Coach Trained. In addition to her coaching, she is currently competing at the Junior level and is very passionate about figure skating. Danae loves passing on her knowledge to anyone interested in learning to skate for the first time or anyone looking to further their prior skating abilities.

National Level Coach with 39 years coaching experience. Coached all levels from Star 1 to Senior Competitive. Have had skaters advance to Skate Canada Challenge for more than 12 years consecutively, with two trips to Nationals. She enjoys teaching all levels, but specializes in competitive skaters.

Roni Swischuk
Roni brings 47 years of coaching experience to Skate Winnipeg. She has coached skaters at all levels from beginner to Novice Competitive in Singles, Dance and Pairs, as well as Novice, Junior and Senior in Synchro. Roni has taken many Synchro Teams to Nationals as well as Pre-Novice Dance Teams. She had a juvenile dance team at junior nationals in 2009 and has taken a skater to Skate Canada Challenge for the last 3 years. Roni has attended many PSA and Canadian conferences throughout the years.
